With a MultiMFG Single Package Vertical (SPV) or VTAC unit, you can provide tenants and guests with a more homelike appearance while maximizing usable space. The SPV is typically installed in a utility or mechanical closet on an exterior wall, out of sight, freeing up valuable floor space in the room. No more blocked window access or curtains blowing throughout the night.
 
A major advantage of the MultiMFG SPV unit is its size. The SPV offers a direct replacement for First Company Single Package units that may already be installed in your building. With a compact 20" x 20" footprint, the SPV is slightly smaller than a standard VTAC, which is typically about 24" x 24".
 
The MultiMFG SPV line is equipped with an inverter-driven compressor, providing variable-capacity operation across all models for precise output control. Rated at 12,000 BTUs, the 12SPV modulates from 4,000 to 14,800 BTUs to deliver enhanced comfort and efficiency. Its wide operating range makes the unit exceptionally versatile, allowing it to effectively cool a variety of room sizes while simplifying the selection process. Variable-speed operation reduces on/off cycling under varying load conditions by adjusting capacity as needed. Rather than completely shutting down, the system operates at lower speeds to maintain consistent comfort without hard stops and restarts. The result is improved comfort and enhanced overall efficiency.
 
The SPV inverter system delivers efficiency ratings of up to 11.0 EER2 across the product line. The 12SPV has high efficiency ratings across the board including 10.5 EER2, 17.1 SEER2 and 8.6 HSPF2 ratings, making it Cold Climate Energy Star Qualified! A high-performance EC blower motor provides up to 0.50" WC external static pressure for flexible duct design, while the DC condenser motor reduces amp draw for lower operating costs and improved reliability.
 
Additionally, the SPV heat pump continues operating in low ambient conditions, delivering dependable heating in outdoor temperatures as low as 15°F. For colder climates, each unit includes an electric heat strip for supplemental heating.
 
The 12SPV5-HP-D includes a 5.0 kW electric heat kit (requiring a 30-amp circuit), along with a modulating cooling capacity of 4,000–14,800 BTU/h and heating modulation of 4,600–16,000 BTU/h. The 5.0 kW electric heat provides up to 17,000 BTU/h of supplemental heat. The 12,000 BTU class unit is also available with:
