Product Overview
The AquaMotion AMH3K-7N is designed to deliver hot water quickly at all points of use between the hot water tank and the farthest fixture that this pump is installed under. ON-DEMAND gives the homeowner the ability to manually activate the system through a wireless controller. It does not include a timer. The Aquastat is a temperature sensor that will tell the pump to run when the water at the fixture starts to drop below 85°F. It will run until it reaches 105°F and then it will shut off. ON-DEMAND is preferred over pumps with timers when you are trying to save money on electricity. AquaMotion offers three different controller types and the option to add an additional control for their ON-DEMAND pumps.
The AMH3K-7N can be operated by a standard wall switch that controls power to the outlet you are using. Aquamotion offers several different wireless controller kits as well. Wireless controller kits include controller and receiver. When adding a wireless controller kit, you also get the option to add up to 4 additional controllers for their ON-DEMAND pumps. Additional controller options include a wireless button (AMK-WBR), a wireless wall switch (AMK-WSR) and a motion sensor (AMK-MSR).
It is for use with a standard hot water heater for common 2 pipe plumbing systems. The AMH3K-7N creates a loop from the water heater to the faucet and back again. The unused hot water is drawn back through this loop by the pump, so when you turn on your hot water faucets, you get hot water quickly. Water is not left in the pipes to get cold, and you waste less water because you don’t have to wait.
Water savings can be as great as 12,000 – 15,000 gallons per year with 4-5 taps in a home. As many homeowners know, you can turn on the faucet and wait for the water to heat up for a very long time - sometimes more than 2 or 3 minutes. That waiting time is wasting energy and countless gallons of water!
All of the moving parts of the AquaMotion AMH3K-7 recirculator are housed in a "Green Eco Cartridge Design". It is the only field serviceable and replaceable cartridge available. With this design, simply remove the rotor assembly, flush the cartridge with water and reinstall it. Simple, cost-effective, patented technology!
Requirements for using the AMH3K-7N include a min./max. water pressure of 20 PSI / 125 PSI with a maximum water temperature of 176°F. The AMH3K-7N includes the following:
- Pump, model AM7-SU1LAMT1 complete with mounting bracket, pre-wired 10-foot flexible cord, and built-in Aquastat
- Union tailpiece with and without red markings
- Union nuts and gaskets
- Flex hoses 1/2” NPS x 1/2” NPS 24 inches long
- Tee, 3/8” compression x 1/2” NPS x 3/8” compression
- (2) Union Nuts and Gaskets
- Installation and Operating Instructions
