Product Overview
The 297 submersible sump pump features a vertical magnetic float switch. As the float moves along its stem to the top of your pump, the switch turns the pump on (at about 9.5") and empties the basin. Once the float reaches the bottom of the stem, having drained the water, the pump will automatically turn off (at about a 4" from the bottom of the basin). The 3/4 horsepower motor is oil-filled and thermally protected, offers quiet operation and is built to last. The pump features a solid cast iron outer shell and includes a stainless steel removable bottom screen, stainless steel rotor shaft and fasteners.
Have no fear if dirt and debris are mixed into your water. The 297 is equipped with 3/4" solids handling - reducing larger debris form entering the pump. A pump that offers solids handling allows solid particles and other materials through (up to 3/4" with the 297 pump), while transporting fluids. This sump pump has a 48' max. head, auto shut off. The 297 also has a high capacity flow rate. As an example, at 10 ft. head, this pump will direct just over 70 gallons a minute up and out of your space!
At 13" high this sump pump will switch on when the float reaches the turn-on level (9.5"). The depth of your sump basin should be at least 24" from the surface the pump is resting on and 18" in diameter. Of course a larger basin would allow for a longer pump cycle and increase the longevity of your float switch. The 937 includes a 10' cord. Keep you sump pump basin covered to prevent debris and other foreign objects from getting into the basin.
