The Bradford White Brute FT Floor Standing Combination Water Heater/Boiler is a great option for heat and hot water, either for residential or light commercial use, year round. In addition to the BFTCF199 Combination, the Brute FT line offers a Boiler Only option. Both are Energy Star Rated and boast 95% AFUE efficiency ratings. The BFTCF199 is the first floor standing unit for both heat AND Domestic Hot Water (DHW) delivery, simultaneously. DHW flow rate measures how many gallons of hot water your system can deliver per minute (GPM). It is the of difference between the temperature of the cold water coming in and the hot water exiting your system.
The BFTCF199 DHW performance is directly tied to the temperature rise of the incoming cold / groundwater to the exiting / desired hot water setting. At a 70°F rise (e.g., heating 50°F groundwater to 120°F), the BFTCF199 delivers a continuous flow of 5.28 gallons per minute (GPM). But because groundwater temperatures differ across the US, your actual flow rate varies by location. Cold climates, such as Maine or the Upper Peninsula, may have average groundwater temps often below 40°F, an 80° rise is needed to achieve 120°F, giving you less than 5 GPM. Conversely, in warmer climates such as Florida or Texas, groundwater may average closer to 70°F, requiring only a 50° rise and achieving less than 7.7 GPM of hot water. Below is a chart of average groundwater temperatures across the US.

The durable stainless steel fire-tube heat exchanger offers a long life expectancy with superior heating performance. The BFTCF199 reliably delivers hot water to your space through its 40 foot stainless steel, corrugated coil. The coil is self-contained within an insulated stainless steel mini-tank, where the boiler water surrounds the coil. This keeps it hot at all times for quick access to hot water when you need it. With stainless steel, there is less corrosion and your exchanger is able to deliver an extremely clean burn.

A boiler turndown ratio represents the difference between a boiler's maximum and minimum firing (heat output) capacity. The Brute FT Floor Standing Combi Boiler / Water Heater has a turndown ratio, or range of operation of 10:1. The higher the turndown ratio, the more efficient your system is at lower heat loads. It offers full modulation ranges from 19,000 - 199,000 BTUs, to precisely match your building/home heating demands. And it is just as efficient at any load. This wide range of operating capacity also helps to avoid short cycling / on/off cycles.
Some additional features included with the Brute FT Floor Standing Boiler:
- Full Modulation Input - 19,000 - 199,000 BTUs (10% - 100%)
- Easy to read LCD digital control panel
- Dedicated Boiler Recirculation
- 3-in-1 Brass Accessory Adapter
- Pressure Relief Valve
- Thermostatic Mixing Valve Included
- Air Intake Filter included
- Outdoor Sensor
- Natural Gas standard, LP Conversion kit included.
The Brute FT also offers several installation options including horizontal or vertical venting, concentric or two pipe venting options, vent and air pipe lengths - 2" piping / 50 ft or 3" piping / 100ft, as well as vent materials. The unit can be vented with PVC, CPVC, stainless steel or polypropylene.
Additionally, Brute FT boilers and boiler/hot water heaters come with Bradford White's 10 Year Warranty on the heat exchanger! A great option for replacing you old boiler and water heater system with a smaller, more efficient, Energy Star Rated solution!
