For a long time Reznor has been providing the best heaters for a variety of applications. Reznor has improved their already industry leading technologies with the UDXC line of unit heaters. The UDXC is a line of power vented unit heaters that can be field converted to separated combustion. Featuring a new, sleeker design, Reznor units still offer efficiency and easy installation.
With an industry leading 82-83% thermal efficiency and a variety of different BTUs, the UDXC series of heaters offer exceptional heat performance for areas both large and small. The 30,000 - 125,000 BTU models are all approved for use in commercial buildings as well as residential garages and workshops. The UDXC225 (225,000 BTU) is ideal for medium-sized commercial spaces. For larger, commercial spaces, UDXC units come in a variety of BTUs up to 400,000. Please contact us for an estimate of the number of BTUs you need for your location.
The defining feature of the UDXC models is their ability to be converted (in the field) from a power-vented unit heater to a separated combustion heater, with the addition of a SC1 kit. When used in a separated combustion installation, the air used for combustion is pulled in from the outside or another room rather than from within the space. This process helps ensure that all air introduced to the inside of the heater is fresh and free of harmful particulates, making these heaters particularly useful in settings where chemicals are stored or frequently used, and/or humidity levels tend to be high. It is also a great choice for dusty environments like wood shops. Concentric Venting (an exhaust terminal and combustion air inlet ) is required for separated combustion use. The CC2 Vertical Vent Kit Package or the CC6 Horizontal Vent Kit Package are available.
The UDXC Series heaters are easy to install, secured in place from 2 or 4 suspension points or by an optional Quick-Sling hanger kit that allows for ceiling mounting. Thermostat setup is quick, with an external terminal strip connector for 24-volt wiring. The factory installed gas line input is located on the backside of the unit heater making the gas connection simple. Additionally, the UDXC Series has an easily accessible, hinged, service door. With a simple turn of a screwdriver the door swings open (includes a safety strap) or can be easily removed for service in tight spaces. Alphanumeric digital display of error codes along with a listing of the fault codes on the door, are easy to see and help the repair tech, ultimately minimizing downtime.
The sleek new look of the UDXC Series includes a white cabinet with black powder-coated louvers as well as an angled corner for a more modern look. Of course, you will still find the Reznor Logo emblazoned right on the front of the unit, in addition to the single red louver among the standard black louvers.
Standard features include Reznor’s patented TCore² titanium stabilized aluminized steel heat exchanger, as well as the "G" terminal to the strip and a newly designed circuit board, which allows for fan-only operation without adding relays. Outwardly, Reznor has developed a sleeker design that shows no front or bottom hardware.
Optional Accessories
SC1 Separated Combustion Kit - Converts your UDXC to a separated combustion unit. The kit includes door seal, door switch, vent adapter gasket, and collar for the combustion of air inlet of unit. CC2 Vertical OR CC6 Horizontal Vent Kit is required. If the CC2 or CC6 Vent Kit is not installed in a separated combustion installation, your manufacturer warranty will be void. The SC1 kit is specific to the BTUs of your unit. We have included the appropriate SC1 kit with your choice of CC6 horizontal or CC2 vertical venting above.
