The Friedrich Floating Air Select Series Single Zone Systems feature high efficiency ratings, low ambient heating and cooling capacities. The Friedrich FSHW183 is rated for 18,000 BTU cooling and 19,800 BTUs heating capacity. It will operate in the cooling mode with outdoor temperatures as low as 0°F. In the heating mode, it will offer operation down to -13°F. While it cannot be used as your primary heat source in the majority of the country, it is an option for secondary heat!
The FSHSW18A3A indoor wall unit features 208/230 volt electricity, 4 fan speeds, continuous up/down air sweep, 24 hour timer and sleep timer. Operating modes for this indoor wall unit include Auto, Cool, Dry, Fan Only and Heat. TURBO mode operates at maximum performance to cool or heat your room to the set temperature quickly and efficiently and will work to maintain that set temperature in an efficient manner! Its four fan speeds include High, Medium, Low, Quiet and Auto Fan. The indoor unit also has a washable anti-microbial filter. Additionally, the room or set temperature will be displayed on the indoor unit for a brief time.
The indoor wall unit operates with its own remote control (included). The 18,000 BTUs will cool a room that is about 800 sq. ft. Factors such as windows, doors, computers and ceiling height must be factored in when calculating the BTUs you need for your specific installation requirements. The heat pump will give you 19,800 BTUs of heat. Low ambient operation includes cooling operation to 0°F and heating operation down to -13°F!
