Designed for cleaning older hydronic heating systems, Sentinel X400RD High Performance Cleaner / System Restorer is a dispersive treatment. It is sent through the heating system and then the system MUST be drained / flushed to remove all of the debris. The X400 can be left in the system for up to 4 weeks for systems that are in bad shape. Regardless of how long it is in there, the system MUST be flushed. Once your system is restored with X400, you should notice lower bills and a warmer home. By cleaning / restoring your system with X400, all of the build-up inside has been loosened and flushed out, creating a cleaner environment for the water in your system.

Ideally, any hydronic system should be cleaned with an appropriate Sentinel cleaner such as X400 or X800. Sentinel X400 is designed for systems that are older than 6 months. The minimum cleaning time for X400 is about 2 hours. To clean the system, Sentinel X400 Rapid-Dose should be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 2 hours. One can is sufficient for a typical residential 25 gallon system. Larger systems require 2 cans. Following your cleaning a product such as X100 should be used. Because X100 is a leave-in treatment, no unit flushing is required once the can is dispensed into the system. Additionally the X100 formula will maintain the stability of the pH levels of the system water. It is recommended that X100 inhibitor is part of your annual boiler servicing the maintain protection.
