An air handler is half of a two-piece split HVAC system. It contains the indoor coil and blower motor that circulates conditioned air through the ductwork and vents into your home. During warmer months, the coil stays cold to remove heat and humidity from the air, helping your home feel cooler and more comfortable. In colder months, the coil becomes warm, allowing heat to transfer into the air as it moves through the system. The AHVE Air Handlers feature an Electronic Expansion Valve to control and regulate the refrigerant airflow for your system. An EEV communicates electronically with the control board for precise response, constantly changing to maintain your comfort level and while helping maximize the efficiency of your air system.
 
The Goodman AHVE36CP1300 3-ton air handler is equipped with a variable speed ECM motor. Unlike a traditional PSC motor that runs at fixed speeds, with hard stops and starts during operation, a variable speed ECM motor varies the fan speed constantly to maintain your set requirements.
 
The AHVE line is fully compatible with ComfortNet communicating thermostats, for an optimized, efficient system. While the system can also use a standard 24V thermostat like Nest or Honeywell, doing so may limit many advanced features, reducing the system efficiency and performance.
 
The AHVE36CP1300 3 ton air handler can be paired with several outdoor Goodman S-Series condensers. Depending on the series, the air handler can be used with 2, 2-1/2 and 3 ton condensers:
  • GZV6SA3010, GZV6SA3610
  • GZV7SA2410
  • GXV6SS3010, GXV6SS3610
  • GXV6SA2410, GXV6SA3010
  • GXV9SA2410

This unit must be installed by a qualified, licensed HVAC technician.
