The 26" GE AKVQ Series built-in air conditioners combine modern styling, variable-speed inverter technology, and built-in WiFi for enhanced comfort and convenience. The AKVQ12DXXWA provides up to 12,000 BTUs of cooling capacity and operates on 208/230-volt power.
Unlike traditional standard compressor air conditioners that run at full capacity whenever they are on, inverter technology allows this unit to continuously adjust its output based on the cooling needs of the room. With a cooling capacity range of 6,100 to 12,400 BTUs, the AKVQ12DXXWA can efficiently serve a variety of room sizes while delivering only the amount of cooling needed to maintain your desired temperature. This results in improved comfort including more consistent temperature with better humidity control, quieter operation, and greater energy efficiency. Because it offers reduced start/stop cycles there will be less wear and tear on the components. Once an inverter unit reaches the set temperature, the compressor will slow down, while still maintaining the temperature. In addition to the variable speed motor, the unit also features 3 cooling and 3 fan only speeds with 6-way directional airflow to reach every corner of your space, and a 24-hour on/off delay timer, for utmost efficiency in proper indoor cooling. The electronic, capacitive touch controls and auto dimming display offers a smooth touch control panel with large LCD display with centered controls. A full function remote is included with this unit.
Additionally, the AKVQ12DXXWA includes a reverse cycle heat pump capacity of 8,500 BTUs, plus up to 10,600 BTUs of electric heat. It features a 24-hour on/off delay timer, for utmost efficiency in proper indoor cooling. This unit features an energy saver feature, which will temporarily shut the air conditioner off when the room reaches a certain temperature, as to not over-cool the room or over-exert the unit. The unit is finished in white.
The AKVQ12DXXWA is WiFi enabled with a built-in GE SmartHQ communication card built right in. WiFi lets you communicate with your AC unit, allowing you to monitor and control it from your phone!

A sleeve (RAB24) is white color-matched and features a Quick Snap Design. A sleeve is required for NEW INSTALLATIONS. An optional Grille is also available (sold separately).
The new GE AKVQ12DXXWA "J Series" is a Standard Mount Heat and Cool (electric heat strip) unit. Standard mount units include a control panel that is set in the upper half of the front of the unit, allowing for easy access when the unit is mounted at or below eye level. The AKVQ12DXXWA is an 12,000 BTU unit for use with 230 volt electricity.
Dimensions (HxWxD): 14-7/8" x 24-13/16" x 19-29/32". When installed in the sleeve, the finished dimensions of your unit are 15-5/8"h x 26"w x 21-13/16"d. The AKVQ is an excellent option when replacing an existing built-in/through the wall unit.
