Product Overview
The Standard Series (STD2) of Mars Air Doors offers a variety of lengths to provide an environmental barrier to your space of up to 12 feet, while protecting your space from insects up to 10 feet. The STD2 has a stronger motor and is a little louder than the LoPro (LPV2) series, but its 1/2 horsepower motor may be better suited for your space.
This unheated, 460 volt, 3-Phase air door is 10 5/8" tall and comes in a variety of lengths from 36" to 144". The STD242-1UH-OB is 42" long and includes a single, 1/2 HP motor. Some sample installation applications include shipping/receiving doors, customer entrances, cold storage rooms and many more. Ideal installation heights is 8' - 12' for the STD2 series.
The STD2 air curtain offers a cost efficient barrier that will blend in to any environment. Its durable metal construction is finished in a powder-coated obsidian black to meet your design aesthetics. Units 36" to 48" long feature a single motor, units 60" to 96" feature a 2- motor design and units 108" - 144" have 3 motors. Each motor boasts 1/2 horsepower. A motor control panel is required and works in conjunction with the number of motors on your air curtain. The Standard Series each ship as a single unit, regardless of length.
The profile of the STD2 is low profile for its power.
The chart below lays out the available lengths for the 460V, unheated electric STD2 Series of air curtains. The highlighted row is specific to this item. Simply choose your length based on your installation needs. It is recommended that a door switch be used with the air curtain. Door limit switches automatically activate and de-activate (start and stop) the air curtain when the door(s) open and close. A controller that offers time delayed control reduces the cycling of the air curtain motors in high traffic areas (10+ times/hour). This type of controller will delay the unit from turning off when the door closes. They can usually be set from 6 seconds to up to 20 minutes. Available door switches and controllers for the STD2, 460V unit include:
- Door Limit Switch 99-014 - Combination mechanical switch, no time delay, 250v, 1HP Max
- Door Limit Switch 99-124 - Commercial, floor mounted reed switch, no time delay. For motors up to 1HP. MCPA-3UG control panel is required
- Door Limit Switch 99-125 - Commercial, surface mounted reed switch, no time delay. For motors up to 1HP. MCPA-3UG control panel is required
- Controller J0022 - Commercial low voltage controller, 208-277V, 1Ø, adjustable time delay, with commercial plastic surface mounted door limit switch (field installed)
When you add a door switch, your unit will automatically turn on when the door opens and off when it closes. Plus, it will continue running for a configurable period of time.
Additionally, a motor control panel and a separate relay or relay with time delay is required to operate the STD2 air curtain. The motor control panel is a separate, externally mounted control panel and is available for each size Air Curtain. The MCPA-1UH is specific to single motor units (36" - 48"), MCPA-2UH for 2-motor units (60" - 96") and MCPA-3UH for 108" - 144" unit (3 motor units).
