GE introduces the newest line of PTAC units featuring R454B Refrigerant - currently the lowest viable low GWP refrigerant available.
For your convenience, we are including your choice of direct connect kit, available in 15 amp, 20 amp or 25 amp.
The new line of Zoneline PTACs are an improvement upon GE's already long-trusted units, with advancements to both the internal and external design for a better heating/cooling experience overall. Zoneline PTACs feature the same case dimensions as other PTAC models. The new line comes in a White Grey color and features an easy to use control panel. It is not recommended to install Make-Up Air units within 2 miles of the coast.
The GE Zoneline AZVS15DMXWA PTAC inverter unit is equipped with a factory-installed makeup air system. It will deliver Variable Speed Make-up Air Delivery, up to 50 CFMs. Its default setting is 35 CFMs. A unit such as the AZVS15DMXWA will pull air into your space from the outside in an effort to replace indoor air that cannot be recirculated. This is a great option with today's newer buildings that are built much more air-tight than in the past. In addition to providing fresh, outdoor air through a makeup air solution, it also dehumidifies the incoming air when the relative humidity is above 50%. The AZVS15DMXWA incorporates the makeup air function right into the unit. It provides continuous outdoor air through the vent door and into the room. Additionally, a make-up air unit may eliminate or reduce the need for a ducted rooftop system. A makeup air unit is not recommended for installation within two miles of coastal areas.
Similar to central heating systems, the GE Zoneline Vertical Heat Pump incorporates the use of a reverse cycle defrost system. This allows the heat pump to operate at lower outdoor temperatures without frost accumulation on the outdoor coil. The new AZVS15DMXWA will operate to 0°F. But no need to worry about those colder days, when the temperature is below 25°F, the electric heater will provide the heat with its Heat Boost Option. The electric heat is power cord dependent. 15, 20 and 30 Amp cords are available for this unit. At Total Home Supply, we include your choice of power cord with your purchase. Use of the direct connect power supply requires RAK4002D Junction Box (sold separately). This helps provide owners with a cost efficient method of heating. With Perfect Control Technology, the variable speed compressor self-regulates the heat load of the space. A variable speed compressor results in fewer cycles, longer operation and less temperature fluctuation. The inverter models also include Perfect Control Technology. With Perfect Control, the heat pumps will operate down to 0°F. You get all the comfort you need, boasting a variable range of 4,000 - 15,000 BTUs of cooling power and a heat pump range of 4,000 - 14,000 BTUs. With a ranges like that, this unit will work in just about any size room in your property.
The AZVS15DMXWA has on-board WiFi SmartHQ Management (subscription required) which provides building wide remote management and diagnostics. When the unit does need to be serviced, the internal structure makes the process easier and faster than ever before, providing a service diagnostics report to help technicians identify problems and a ‘quick connect’ feature that allows thermostat, central desk control, and external fan set-up in just seconds. The unit does have removable, easy-to-clean air filters located right in the front of the unit. They easily lift out for vacuuming and a water rinse.
Another shining feature of GE’s new Zoneline PTACs is the addition of two DC fan motors, which works to reduce noise by dialing in the exact airflow needed for each heating and cooling function. In fact, with a sound transmission class of 29, GE’s Zoneline units are the quietest PTACs on the market at reducing outside noise when compared to leading competitors. A large cross-flow barrier optimizes airflow for a low, balanced sound that is hardly noticeable, while a heavy-duty, baked-on mastic barrier covers the back of the unit for superior sound insulation. A weather barrier system seal around the perimeter of the unit keeps all noise and dirt outside, ensuring a better and more comfortable environment while the PTAC is in use.
Every unit is programmed to balance comfort with efficient operation, and a reverse cycle defrost feature increases this efficiency by allowing the unit to run in heat pump mode longer. Specially designed heat & freeze sentinels work to prevent damage caused by overheating or freezing, prolonging the life of the unit and adding to even more energy savings in the long run.
The GE PTAC Zoneline units can be operated with a remote wall thermostat. This operation does require a Thermostat Control Kit (RAKTK8PA1, sold separately).
The AZVS15DMXWA has a nominal cooling capacity of 15,000 BTUs and a nominal heating capacity of 14,000 BTUs. As mentioned, it is a variable speed compressor and will operate down to 4,000 BTUs as needed. Your choice (included) of electric cord amperage is required at your time of purchase. Electric heat is power cord dependent. It is a fixed speed unit with hi or low settings.

New installation requires a power cord, sleeve and a rear grille. Sleeve and grille are not included with the air conditioner (sold separately). Fits a standard PTAC Sleeve Size (WxHxD): 42" x 16 1/16" x 14 1/8". The cut-out dimensions for this unit are 42-1/4"w x 16-1/4"h.
