The GE Zoneline Vertical Packaged Terminal Heat Pump has excellent COP (Coefficient of Performance) ratings. This is the measurement of the efficiency of the heat pump output compared to electric resistance heat. In addition to comparing heat pump output versus electric heat, this number also allows a direct comparison to other heat pumps with the same range capacity. The AVVL12DMXWA features Heat pump capacity range of 4,500 - 13,000 BTUs and a COP of 3.5 @47°F. The AVVS12DCXWA Ultimate V12 Series also meets new AHRI Standards and are rated with the new EER2, SEER2 and HSPF2 ratings. It features 12.0 EER2, 16.5 SEER2 and 7.1 HSPF2 ratings. This unit is also WiFi ready with the GE's Smart HQ WiFi.
 
GE Zoneline Ultimate V12 Series uses R454B refrigerant. R454B features a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 467 - the most environmentally friendly refrigerant available. The larger the GWP, the more that specific gas warms the Earth. The AVVL12DMXWA Zoneline VTAC unit is equipped with a factory-installed makeup air system. It will deliver 30 - 70 CFMs (without a filter) and 25 - 70 CFMs (with MERV13 filter; RAA13V) of continuous makeup air. Its default setting is 35 CFMs. A unit such as the AVVL12DMXWA will pull air into your space from the outside in an effort to replace indoor air that cannot be recirculated. This is a great option with today's newer buildings that are built much more air-tight than in the past. Frequently, makeup air is used with kitchen exhaust fans, as they tend to pull large amounts of interior air out. Fresh, outdoor air is introduced through a makeup air solution. The AVVL12DMXWA incorporates the makeup air function right into the unit. It provides continuous outdoor air through the vent door and into the room. In addition to providing fresh air, it dehumidifies incoming air when the relative humidity is above 50%. Additionally, a make-up air unit may eliminate or reduce the need for a ducted rooftop system. A makeup air VTAC unit is not recommended for installation within two miles of coastal areas.
 
The newest innovation for the GE Zoneline VTAC series is the Inverter Driven, Variable Speed Compressor, with Perfect Control Technology, which, thanks to GE's proprietary algorithms, improves all operations of the VTAC system. Cooling, dehumidification, and heat pump operation continually adjust to meet the needs of each unique installation - keeping comfort high and energy costs low! Optimized and Efficient Operation! With its variable speed technology, the GE AVVL12DMXWA Ultimate V12 Series Heat Pump Zoneline Vertical Air Conditioner (VTAC) can be used to replace several models including 9,000, 12,000 and 18,000 BTU units.

This GE AVVL12DMXWA Zoneline VTAC offers a rated cooling capacity of 12,500 BTUs (@95°F outdoor temp.) with a cooling range capacity of 5,200 - 16,200 BTUs. The heat pump offers 11,200 BTUs (@47°F outdoor temp.) with a heating BTU range of 4,500 - 13,000. The new AVVL Series also gives you your choice of power supply. The power amperage you choose is directly related to the amount of electric heat you get. Direct connect power supply kits are available in 15 Amp; 2.4 kW electric heat, 20 Amp; 3.4 kW electric heat and 30 Amp; 5.0 kW electric heat options. 
 
The AVVL Series is also equipped with 2 fan speeds. Featured on this unit is the Quick Heat Recovery System. The heat pump incorporates a two stage heat/one stage cooling thermostat that utilizes the resistance heat to bring the room temperature to within 2 degrees of the thermostat set point before initiating the heat pump operation. This helps bring the room up to temperature quickly and allowing for warmer air to be discharged when the heat pump kicks in. It also has Dehumidification Sentinel, for powerful moisture removal. This feature automatically turns on to maintain your desired humidity levels. This helps to alleviate the need to manually control you humidity levels, just set it and forget it.  For example you can set your humidity level for 40%. Once the humidity levels exceed this set point, the unit will automatically start dehumidifying. Because it only turns on if your humidity level is too high, not only will your rooms maintains a comfortable level, you will potentially save on energy costs. You and your property will benefit knowing your rooms will not suffer from excessive humidity and dampness.

Similar to central heating systems, the GE Zoneline Vertical Heat Pump incorporates the use of a reverse cycle defrost system. This allows the heat pump to operate at lower outdoor temperatures without frost accumulation on the outdoor coil. This helps provide owners with a cost efficient method of heating. Additionally, the outdoor coils include a corrosion treatment for added protection from the elements.
  
A GE Vertical Air Conditioner (VTAC or Vertical PTAC) helps you optimize floor space because the unit is concealed in a closet with an outside wall rather than out in the open. With hidden installation, the room becomes more aesthetically appealing, giving it more of an at-home appearance, with no limitations on furniture placement or window treatment installation.
