Like other Goodman products, the cabinet has a galvanized leather grain-embossed finish. Foil-faced insulation covers the casing inside to reduce cabinet moisture. The front of the cabinet has a split seam for easy access. Drain pans feature a low water-retention design and are made of DecaBDE-free thermoplastic. The thermoplastic design resists rust and is UV-resistant.

The CSCF series of evaporator coils can be installed for use in a horizontal configuration. A horizontal flow installation takes the air in on one side and exhausts it out the other. This type of unit can be installed anywhere - upstairs or downstairs since the air moves laterally. The Goodman CSCF series coils are cased coils and feature a flowrater valve. This type of valve has a fixed orifice and is constructed to deliver a fixed amount of refrigerant to the coil, regardless of conditions. Evaporator coils are for use split system air conditioner condensers as well as heat pump systems. As noted in the item code, it can be used with two different tonnages. The CSCF3642N6 can be used with 36,000 (3 ton) to 42,000 (3.5 ton) BTU systems. The flowrater/orifice is for use with the larger tonnage - in this instance 3.5 tons. For use with a 3 ton system a different orifice/flowrater is required (unless a TXV is required instead). The CSCF3642N6 evaporator coil uses either R410A or R22 refrigerants.

They must be paired with the condenser unit in a split system - with or without a heat pump, as well as match the furnace for a proper/exact fit. Uncased coils are typically used in replacement installations in which you are inserting the coil into pre-existing ductwork. 

Evaporator coils can be purchased by anyone, however, HVAC systems must be installed by a certified HVAC technician. An HVAC installer will have the experience required to make sure your new system is up and running properly.
