The aluminum tube and fin coil construction of the uncased evaporator coil provides time tested and proven heat transfer properties to give the consumer outstanding performance. Additionally, grooved aluminum tubing increases the surface area for efficient heat transfer performance.
The CAUF series of evaporator coils can be installed for use in either a downflow or upflow installation / configuration. In an upflow installation you can take advantage of the natural flow the heat. In this type of installation, cold air enters at the bottom and hot air is exhausted out the top. The opposite is true in a downflow installation. Usually installed in attics, this installation takes cooler air into the top of the unit and released out the bottom or downward into the space. Drain pans feature a low water-retention design and are made of DecaBDE-free thermoplastic. The thermoplastic design resists rust and is UV-resistant.
The Goodman CAUF series coils are uncased, "A" Coils and feature a flowrater valve. This type of valve has a fixed orifice and is constructed to deliver a fixed amount of refrigerant to the coil, regardless of conditions. Evaporator coils are for use split system air conditioner condensers as well as heat pump systems. The CAUF3636A6 can be used with 36,000 (3 ton) BTU systems. The CAUF3636A6 evaporator coil uses either R410A or R22 refrigerants.
- Nominal Cooling Tons: 3
- Service Valve Liquid Connection Size: 3/8"
- Service Valve Suction Connection Size: 3/4"
- Dimensions: 13.0"w x 19.5"h x 17"height / distance from base to suction valve
Uncased coils are typically used in replacement installations in which you are inserting the coil into pre-existing ductwork. Cased evaporator coils are typically used for new comfort system installations including a new furnace. They must be paired with the condenser unit in a split system - with or without a heat pump, as well as match the furnace for a proper/exact fit. Note: Before purchasing an evaporator coil, please double check that the width and height of the coil do not exceed the available area in your ductwork where the coil will be installed.
The 21 1/8" deep cabinet is engineered to make installing the evaporator coil in a tight space easy.. evaporator coil can be purchased by anyone, however, HVAC systems must be installed by a certified HVAC technician. An HVAC installer will have the experience required to make sure your new system is up and running properly.
Goodman evaporator coils are designed and assembled in the USA. A 10 year limited parts warranty gives you peace of mind that these products are built to last. Coils are AHRI Certified and ETL Listed.
