The CAPT3131C4 evaporator coil is used in conjunction with a furnace and split air conditioner or heat pump system. The Goodman CAPT3131C4 indoor evaporator coil is a cased coil with factory-installed thermal expansion valve (TXV) for cooling and heat pump applications. A TXV regulates the rate the refrigerant flows into the evaporator, depending on conditions, for optimum performance. The CAPT3131C4 can be used with 30,000 (2.5 ton) systems.

Standard on all Goodman coils is the all-aluminum tube and fin coil construction. The use of single metal construction and a grooved tube help to deliver the utmost in heat transfer efficiency. Aluminum is also used to help combat potential corrosion. The cabinet is finished in the same galvanized, leather grain-embossed finish as other Goodman system components. Each unit features foil-faced insulation on the interior of the casing to reduce cabinet condensate. A split seam is located on the front of the cabinet for easy access. Drain pans feature a low water-retention design and are made of DecaBDE-free thermoplastic. The thermoplastic design resists rust and is UV-resistant.

The CAPT series of evaporator coils can be set up for use in an upflow or downflow application. A downflow installation is for use in an attic, whereas an upflow installation is usually in a low point of the dwelling. The CAPT evaporator coils require R410A refrigerant.

They must be paired with the condenser unit in a split system - with or without a heat pump, as well as match the furnace for a proper/exact fit. Uncased coils are typically used in replacement installations in which you are inserting the coil into pre-existing ductwork. 

The 21" deep cabinet is engineered to make installing the evaporator coil in a tight space easy.. evaporator coil can be purchased by anyone, however, HVAC systems must be installed by a certified HVAC technician. An HVAC installer will have the skills required to ensure that your system functions to its highest ability.

All Goodman products including evaporator coils are built in the USA. Coils have a 10 year limited parts warranty. They are also AHRI Certified and ETL Listed.
