The CAPF3030D6 evaporator coil is used in conjunction with a furnace and split air conditioner or heat pump system. The Goodman CAPF series units are cased coils and feature a flowrater valve. A flowrater valve has a fixed orifice which delivers a set amount of refrigerant to the coil, regardless of conditions. All Goodman coil feature an all-aluminum tube and fin coil construction. The use of single metal construction and a grooved tube help to give the maximum in heat transfer efficiency. Aluminum construction helps to resist potential corrosion.

Goodman coils match other components like furnaces with their galvanized leather grain-embossed finish. Foil-faced insulation covers the casing inside to reduce cabinet condensation. A split seam is located on the front of the cabinet for easy access. Thermoplastic drain pans resist rust and the fading effects of UV rays. They are constructed of DecaBDE-free thermoplastic and have a shallow design.

The CAPF series of evaporator coils can be installed for use in an upflow or downflow application. In an upflow installation you can take advantage of the natural flow the heat. In this type of setup, cold air enters at the bottom and hot air is exhausted out the top. The opposite is true in a downflow installation. Usually installed in attics, this installation takes cooler air into the top of the unit and released out the bottom or downward into the space. The CAPF evaporator coils use either R410A or R22 refrigerants.
