Energy efficient, comfort control is yours with a Daikin single zone mini-split. This unit is a cooling system with a heat pump. Each single zone system comes complete with an indoor and outdoor unit. This system includes the streamlined, concealed duct, medium static pressure FDMQ18WVJU9 paired with a quiet, compact outdoor unit (RXL18WMVJU9). This unit offers 17,600 BTUs cooling capacity and 21,600 BTUs heating. In concert with the new DOE ratings, the Aurora Series mini split systems now have EER2, SEER2 and HSPF2 ratings. The 18,000 BTU Aurora FDMQ system features 10.0 EER2, 15.2 SEER2 and 8.5 HSPF2 ratings with a 3.0 COP2 rating.
Out of the box, this mini split system will keep cooling with outdoor temperatures as low as 14°F, this air conditioner will keep cooling. It will continue to cool with outdoor temperatures ranging from 14°F up to 115°F. When you add the optional wind baffle (KPW063B4), your system can operate in the cooling mode with an outdoor temperature as low as -4°F. The drain pan on the condenser has up to 14 holes to help direct the condensate to drain more easily. With an enhanced capacity of up to 100% Heating Capacity at 5°F/-15°C and 100% Cooling Capacity up to 104°F/40°C, this is a perfect single zone, 18,000 BTU mini split system for cold weather climates. Even if it is colder this system ensures year round comfort with temperature ranges for heating from -13°F up to 75°F (with optional heater drain pan) and low ambient cooling ranges from 14°F up to 115°F. Plus it is great for server rooms that may need to be kept cool even when it is cold outside with a cooling range is from -4°F to 115°F, (with optional wind baffle). Both low temperature operating ranges help to make this system a great solution as a primary heating and cooling source almost anywhere in the USA.
The FDMQ line of concealed ducted ceiling units are a medium static unit providing external pressures from 0.2" up to 0.6" w.c. on all models. This is changeable in 13 stages by the wired controller BRC1E73. A controller is not included and must be purchased separately. A wired controller, (BRC1E73), or DTST-ONE-ADA-A Daikin One+ is required and must be purchased separately to operate this unit. Optional WiFi controls such as AZAI60WSCDKA DKN WiFi Cloud adapter are also available to operate this unit.
The major advantage to the FDMQ Medium Static unit is the ability for longer duct runs giving the consumer numerous installation opportunities and the ease of implementing high MERV filters. The ducted ceiling system is designed to quietly blend into the ambiance of shops, restaurants, small offices or home environments. Daikin’s ducted unit is easily concealed in a ceiling in a non-distracting way.
When paired with the inverter, variable speed compressor (RXL18WMVJU9) in a single zone application, this system will deliver the capacity required and reduce energy consumption.
The slim profile of this unit, less than 10" high, allows for installation in tighter ceiling spaces than other ducted units.

The RXL18WMVJU9 outdoor unit features quiet operation and a slim, compact design that will be relatively low-key in any outdoor installation. The outdoor unit for the FDMQ series offers a streamlined design, quiet operation and an inverter "variable speed" compressor. Many standard features are included with this unit. For efficient, quiet service, the variable speed compressor features inverter technology. Inverter technology allows the unit to scale production up or down based on the needs of the room. This decreases temperature variations, supplying you with the right amount of cooling and heating comfort.

Since a mini split does not tie into your main cooling/heating source, it can be used in many installations including detached garages, basements or sun rooms, to name a few.
Daikin stands behind its products. This system includes a 5 year parts and compressor warranty that is expandable to 12 years parts and compressor. Simply register the unit after installation by a qualified installer to extend your coverage.
