Bosch Inverter Ducted Split (IDS) System is a great alternative to conventional heating and cooling systems that require a condenser and indoor cooling unit plus a furnace. As the name implies it is a ducted split system that installs in two parts (1 indoor air handler and 1 outdoor compressor) and connects to your homes' ductwork. The 3 ton IDS system is Energy Star Rated and includes an outdoor compressor (8733952437; BOVA-36HDN1-M20G) and corresponding indoor Air Handler (8733952440; BVA-36WN1-M20). It is a year round heat and cool comfort system that features a heat pump heating system and offers electric heat kits (sold separately). The 3 ton system has a SEER Rating of 20 and is Energy Star rated. It can be used nationwide for all of your primary heating and cooling needs. The IDS System incorporates modulating inverter technology to deliver the comfort level you need, when you need it. Inverter technology allows for a smoother, more efficient comfort level achievement while its boosted compressor speeds get conditioned air to you sooner. Inverter systems self-adjust for consistent room temperatures producing maximum comfort with minimum cost. Rather than achieving your set comfort level and shutting down, once your set temperature is reached, the compressor operates at lower fan speeds, keeping your inside temperature more consistent. Inverter technology also means smoother compressor ramp ups which avoids spikes in energy use adjusting the compressor capacity as needed from 36% up to 130% in 1% increments. All in all, inverter technology gives the user overall higher efficiency when cooling or heating.
This system offers quiet outdoor noise levels as well. It features sound isolating mounts and direct-drive fan blades to reduce the sound of airflow. It also includes an electronic expansion valve to ensure proper refrigerant flow.
This system includes a 36000 BTU class outdoor condenser and pairs with a 36000 BTU indoor air handler. For cooling, the operating range for this system is 15°F - 125°F. For heating, the system will operate with outdoor temperatures from -4°F - 86°F. with an EER of 12.5. The system offers 34600 nominal cooling BTUs. The nominal heating capacity on this system is 34200 BTUs on high and 28000 BTUs on Low and it has an HSPF rating of 10.5.
The Bosch IDS systems are designed for easy installation and are easy to maintain and service, with its on-board diagnostics.
The air handler has a two-stage ECM motor in which the blower stages up and down providing enhanced comfort, energy savings and superior humidity control. The cabinet for the air handler is lined with foil-face insulation material to decrease energy loss and reduce condensation. It is painted galvanized steel and has been salt-spray tested for durability and corrosion resistance. This is especially important when used in coastal areas. It can be installed either horizontally or vertically - whichever is best for your installation. The air handler has an integrated drain pan manufactured from corrosion-resistant composite material. The drain pan is gently sloped to reduce standing water and offers flexibility for vertical or horizontal applications. It includes an all aluminum coil which offers excellent heat transfer. All aluminum is more durable and offers a lower chance of a refrigerant leak compared to copper coils. The control board sits in a dedicated pocket of the air handler, protecting it from humidity in the air stream.
Electric heat kits are also available (sold separately) for emergency back-up heat. No modification is required to add a heat kit. Typically, in a heat pump system, the electric heater will operate (on-demand) to help offset extremely cold conditions when the heat pump cannot keep your space warm enough.
The Bosch IDS system is compatible with most 24VAC thermostats. The Bosch BCC100 is an easy to use, all in one internet connected thermostat. It is compatible with most 24 VAC equipment. Using the WiFi BCC100 thermostat will allow the user on-the-go on/off and schedule control of the IDS system. The outdoor unit footprint is just about 2.5 sq. ft. coming in at 29.125" x 29.125" and is only 24.938"h. The air handler cabinet is 19.625"w x 46.5"h x 21.625"d.
The Bosch IDS system delivers 100% heating capacity at temperatures as low as -5°F, with no additional hardware or accessories required. It also includes a factory installed base pan heater that keeps the condensate from freezing in extreme conditions. This system will also cool at low temperatures for national usability.
The Bosch IDS system requires a properly sized and maintained duct system. This system must be installed by a qualified licensed HVAC technician. Manufacturer covers parts only under warranty.

Product Warranty
For Products installed in a one or two family residential dwelling, Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. (BTC) warrants that all compressors and internal components incorporated into the Product at the time of shipment by BTC shall remain free from defects in workmanship and materials for ten (10) years on compressor and seven (7) years* on parts from the Commencement Date as defined below:
- For Products installed in newly constructed homes: date of home purchase by homeowner from builder.
- For Products installed in existing residences: original date of installation.
REGISTER YOUR SYSTEM AND RECEIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE:
BTC warrants the Product shall remain free from defects in workmanship and material for ten (10) years on parts from the Commencement Date if properly registered within 90 days of the Commencement Date.*10 years if registered
