The CAPF3642C6 evaporator coil is used in combination with a furnace and split air conditioner or heat pump system. The Goodman CAPF series units are cased coils and feature a flowrater valve. This type of valve has a fixed orifice and is configured to deliver a fixed amount of refrigerant to the coil, regardless of conditions. All Goodman coil feature an all-aluminum tube and fin coil construction. The use of single metal construction and a grooved tube help to give the maximum in heat transfer efficiency. Aluminum is also used to help prevent potential corrosion.
Like other Goodman products, the cabinet has a galvanized leather grain-embossed finish. Each unit features foil-faced insulation on the interior of the casing to reduce cabinet condensation. The front of the cabinet has a split seam for easy access. Thermoplastic drain pans resist rust and the harmful effects of UV rays. They are constructed of DecaBDE-free thermoplastic and have a low water-retention design.
The CAPF series of evaporator coils can be set up for use in an upflow or downflow application. In an upflow installation you can take advantage of the natural flow the heat. In this type of installation, cold air enters at the bottom and hot air is exhausted out the top. The opposite is true in a downflow installation. Usually installed in attics, this installation takes cooler air into the top of the unit and released out the bottom or downward into the space. The CAPF evaporator coils use R410A or R22 refrigerants.
