Since a ZVAC does not install in a wall opening, the use of a plenum is required to contain and separate the outdoor air paths. The plenum must be able to hold water in the bottom without leaking into the wall cavity. It also must have a "splitter" to separate the outdoor air paths and prevent the discharge air from being drawn back into the unit.
GE offers four plenums and the choice of the correct plenum is determined by the thickness of the buildings exterior wall.
- RAVWP6 - for installations with walls up to 6" thick
- RAVWP8 - for installations with walls up to 8" thick
- RAVWP12 - for installations with walls up to 12" thick
- RAVWP15 - for installations with walls up to 15" thick
Each plenum is 19 3/4" wide x 32 " high and requires a 20" wide by 32 1/4" high cutout in the wall.
If you are replacing an existing AZ75 or AZ85 VTAC and installing the new AZ90 or AZ91, the RAVTRANS Kit is required. It will add about 2.5" to the depth (front to back).
