When you install a mini split, a line set is required. A line set with 1/2 inch insulation is recommended
for all systems using R410A refrigerant. The 1/2" insulation used on Duraguard line sets has an R3 rating, protecting the copper tubing inside. Duraguard line sets consist of a durable, tear resistant polyethylene outer layer. This coating resists accidental tears and cuts that could affect a line sets' overall performance, including its insulating effectiveness and condensation control performance..
Not only are the Streamline Duraguard tear resistant line sets made in the USA, they are also mold and mildew resistant and include a UV Retardant to help minimize UV degradation. The line set is marked every foot for ease of measuring, and cutting to size, for your specific installation needs.
Additionally, the Duraguard line sets meet the ASTM E84 25/50 flame/smoke rating. These white line sets are easily identified and carry a 10 year limited warranty on the copper tube. The copper tubing is UL Recognized to 700 PSI MWP.
A line set is two semi-flexible copper pipes which connect the outdoor air conditioner or heat pump to the indoor air handler. They are a smaller pipe, the liquid line and a larger pipe, the suction line. Both lines are insulated on mini-split line sets. The first measurement, liquid line diameter is available in 1/4, 3/8 or 5/8 inches, and the suction line, the second measurement is available as 1/2, 3/8, 5/8 or 3/4 inches depending on the size and efficiency of the air conditioner or heat pump. The last measurement is the length, which is available in differing sizes.
This line set has a 1/4" liquid line, 5/8" suction line, a 35' length and attached flare nuts. Line set includes 1/2" insulation.
