Evaporator coils are used in conjunction with split air conditioner systems - with or without heat pumps. The Goodman CHPF series units are cased coils and feature a flowrater valve. A flowrater valve has a fixed orifice which delivers a set amount of refrigerant to the coil, regardless of conditions. All Goodman coil feature an all-aluminum tube and fin coil design. The use of single metal construction and a grooved tube help to provide the utmost in heat transfer efficiency. Aluminum is also used to help resist potential corrosion.
The cabinet is finished in the same galvanized, leather grain-embossed finish as other Goodman system components. Foil-faced insulation covers the casing inside to reduce cabinet moisture. A split seam is located on the front of the cabinet for easy access. Thermoplastic drain pans resist rust and the fading effects of UV rays. They are constructed of DecaBDE-free thermoplastic and have a low water-retention design.
The CHPF series of evaporator coils can be installed for use in a horizontal configuration. A horizontal flow installation takes the air in on one side and exhausts it out the other. This type of unit can be installed anywhere - upstairs or downstairs since the air moves laterally. The CHPF2430B6 evaporator coil uses either R22 or R410A refrigerants.
