Friedrich PTACs are newly designed with two separate motors - one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor motor can run at slower speeds which reduces indoor sound levels. The new PTAC also features a new tangential blower wheel. The tangential blower wheel has nearly 5x the surface area of a typical fan used on other PTACs. The result is more uniform airflow over a wider path for faster, more even air distribution throughout the room and improved sound levels.
Friedrich PTACs also feature a unique 3 speed fan in cooling and heating mode. The soft start/stop fan delay feature reduces transitional nose that is usually associated with compressor start-up.
All Friedrich PTACs ship complete with a standard power cord. The 7K, 9K and 12K each ship with a 20 amp/3.0 kW power cord and the 15K ships with a 30 amp/5.0 kW power cord. The universal heater allows the installer to change the heat output by simply changing the power cord. The power cord is as easy to connect and disconnect as a phone jack. Available power cords include the 15 amp/2.0 kW, 20 amp/3.0 kW and 30 amp/5.0 kW. The PDE07K unit can only accept the standard 20 amp cord included with the unit or the 15 amp cord.
